First 50 Exhibition

15th May 2018, 10.30am - 4pm

50 lifesize models of soldiers each representing local men who where the first volunteers to land in France to fight in WW1. Please come and see them and learn their fate. FREE entry (Groups can book a short talk and tea and cake for just £3.00 per person).


Quick Flicks from Pudding Bag Productions

24th May 2018, 7pm

An evening of short films from this award-winning local group. A true historical mystery drama based on Grace Dieu Priory, the origin of the saying “Painting the Town Red” and a couple of comedies written by Ashby Writers’ Club.


Ashby Dramatic Society -1 Act Plays

Ashby Dramatic Society opens the festival with an evening of amusing and thought provoking One Act plays and reprises it on Saturday evening.

The Word Splurge Workshop
