2019 Arts Festival
5th November 2018
To commemorate the centenary of the end of World War 1 we are organising 100 poppy paintings to be created by amateur and professional artists, schools, community groups and the general public.
The paintings will be displayed in a trail of shop windows around the centre of Ashby de la Zouch from November 5th up to Remembrance Day.
After that the display will move to Ashby Library from the 15th November to 30th November where they will be sold by silent auction with proceeds going to the Poppy Appeal.
15th November 2018
Following the lovely display of 100+ poppy paintings around town – the paintings have now been moved and put on display in Ashby Library where the paintings the will be sold by Silent Auction to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal.
30th November 2018
Artists and community groups were invited to decorate a life-sized, figure-shaped cut out to represent an inspiring female. The response was amazing and you can see the 50 resulting females and learn their stories as well as thinking about the values they represent at the exhibition inside Coalville’s Cooperative Supermarket until the end of December
