Artist Trading Card Swap 2024

We are looking for creative people who would like to make artist trading cards and swap them with other creatives at a fun networking event

What is an Artist Trading Card?

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) is a conceptual art project started by Swiss artist M. Vänçi Stirnemann in 1997. He called it a Collaborative Cultural Performance. ATCs are 2.5 by 3.5 inches (7.62 x 6.35 cm) in size, the same format as modern trading cards (like football cards or Pokémon cards). They are self-made, unique works or small series, signed and dated on the reverse by the artist/producer, exchanged and collected by the people who participate in the collaboration.

What do I need to do?

Sign up to take part in the event by 7th April we will let you know the final number of people participating, (participation has been capped at 50). Then you create one ATC per participant, in time to bring and swap them at a creative networking event in Ashby on Sunday 12th May.

They can be made of any medium, using any materials. The only rule is that they must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches. We recommend that this event is for teenagers and adults.

Ashby Arts Festival will use one ATC from each Artist to display together in public.
